Steven J. Cabral is a Boston-based painter whose work explores concepts relating to memory and the subconscious, and their perceived interactions within the environmental spaces of everyday life. In some ways, his paintings function as mnemonic structures which describe the conflicting emotions that can arise when environmental surroundings begin to merge and interact within the ever-shifting layers of subtle memory. Steven has shown his work in several group exhibitions in the greater Boston area, and he is a member of the Vernon Street artists’ community in Somerville, Massachusetts as well as the Brickbottom Artist Association. Steven holds a BFA in painting from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and he currently lives and works in Somerville.
